


This flywheel navigation has good ergonomics taking into consideration Steven Hoober's "Thumb Zone." Since one user scenario is holding a tablet device while operating the robotic catheter, it was important to place navigation in a location that did not obstruct the lateral and frontal views. Secondly, the tablet can be held in portrait mode as shown on the first slide in this case study.




The Remedy Robotics application enables a tele-physician to operate a robotic catheter. Since highly skilled physicians are primarily located in developed nations, this type of application enables remote surgery on patients anywhere in the world.
